Welcome to the last Full Chat 2024, which this month kicked off with Paul & David Smalley’s 12 car club night with six expert teams and two semi-expert teams competing.
Start and finish was from Gt Massingham social club with sausage and chips supper supplied by Neil Kerry at the finish for competitors and marshals. Congratulations to Rob Kitchen and Jonathan Stimpson on their first expert win on a KLDMC event, thank you to all who competed and all the marshals who braved the cold evening.
Duncan Russell and Steve Tilburn took Steve’s rally car to the Kingsley Care Home in Holt, to take a resident out for a ride, this made Gaynor’s day, she was amazing for a 92-year-old and easily and enthusiastically got in to the rally car, she even asked Steve if it would go sideways and counted Steve down from 3-2-1 at the start a couple of times. Gaynor had been a rally driver during the 1950’s and had won an event, beating all the men, she still has her trophy which she cherishes from the event, all this was shown on Anglia TV News a great promotion for the club, thank you.

Next was our Christmas Quiz, questions provided by Helen, Paul and Ed Haylock which required some head scratching at times. The quiz was held at Runcton Holme Social Club who also provided refreshments at half time, seven teams competing and was won by the Cunnington/Russell team, they will have the privilege of setting the questions for next year’s quiz.
We have had some members out this month, starting with Josh & Kimberley Wallis competing at the Cadwell Stages in their Honda they were running at 27th overall until being OTL at ATC8.

We had two crews entered in the SCCON Lyng Garage 12 car rally, David Smalley navigating for Luke Allen finishing 2nd, with Mick Beauchamp and Mark Banham finished 5th, well done to both crews on a great finish.
Will Brown was navigating for Brain Farminer in a Fiesta R5 on the Phil Collins Memorial Stages finishing 51st overall.
Our next event the club is involved in is the Rixy Stages at Stanta Training Ground on 29th December. There is still entries available also marshals are required, go to https://rixystages.co.uk/ for more information.
We have our awards evening coming up Wednesday 29th January 2025 contact Duncan at secretary@kingslynndmc.co.uk to book your place and menu choice by 23rd January 2025, we hope to see as many members and friends there to clap and congratulate our winners.

That’s it from me, just to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Cheers
Dave
