Welcome to April’s Full Chat which starts with the sad news of the passing of club stalwart Greg Bates who was a long-term member of KLDMC, competing for many years before being elected on to the committee and becoming a Hon Vice President. he will be greatly missed; the club sends our condolences to Judy and the family. Greg’s funeral will be at Mintlyn Crematorium Kings Lynn on Thursday 1st May at 3.15 and afterwards at Carpenters Arms, East Winch. Greg and Judy have asked that attendees bring competition and classic cars, where possible.
We had some members out competing on the Javelin Jumbo Targa at Debden on 30th March with some good results. David Smalley & Mark Banham finished 2nd O/A and 2nd in class MB, Colin Mantle & Mathew Mantle finished 26th O/A and 2nd class EB, Mark Banham & David Smalley finished 27th O/A and 18th In class MB, Mathew Mantle & Colin Mantle finished 37th overall & 6th in class EA, Dave Ottoway & David J Ottoway finished 61st overall and 13th in class NB, well done everyone who took part on a dry and dusty event.
On the 9th April we had Adrian’s 12 Car Rally the last one before our summer events start. We had 8 teams take part starting and finishing at Runcton Social Club, it was David & Paul Smalley taking the honours with 1st place (looks like David will be taking home more silverware again at the end of the year !!! Thanks to Adrian for putting on a challenging rally, all those who competed and the marshals who came out so competitors had a good rally. Food was laid on by Runcton Social Club while results were calculated.
Coming up on May 7th we have our first Gymkhana at a new venue Stonibruck, Royston Road, West Dereham PE33 9RJ, W3W. Origins.Devalued.Servers. Entries and marshals to Joe Glover: alijoeeagen@outlook.com come out and have some fun on a May evening.
