Welcome to another busy month for the club starting off with our 1st 12 car night rally of the year, on the 5th February “The What Three Words” rally, something new organised by Ian & June Pollard starting from Shouldham Bowls Club, we had 5 expert & 1 semi-expert teams, crews were given ‘What Three Words’ clues to solve and plot to get to the next control. Food was provided by David & June Pollard back at Shouldham while the results were sorted, a close finish between the first two crews with Paul & David Smalley coming out on top with 1min no fails, with Harvey Steele and Martin Pitt second on 2min no fails.
On the 8th February was Snetterton Stages Rally with club members out enjoying the rally. David Smalley in car 32 on the notes for Aaron Rix in the immaculate blue Mk1 Escort with both having big smiles on their faces all day, finishing 28th overall and 12th in class.
In car 53 was Andy Yeomans driving his yellow Mk2 Escort (Dippy) a great drive by Andy saw him finish 43th overall and 15th in class D.
Also out competing was Freddy Hewitt on the notes in car 78 for Mike Lacey, finishing 50th o/and and 4th in class F. Well done all the crews taking part we also had quite a few members out marshalling on a very damp and chilly day.
On 13th February some of the committee were invited to visit Lexham Engineering to have a look around their workshops and cars, a very interesting afternoon organised by Duncan.
If anyone has some photos of their cars competing on events/shows/gymkhanas etc please could you WhatsApp them to David Bell 07831 812 429, he has requested some more of members pictures for the new website.
Coming up next is the AGM at Runcton Holme Social Club on 10th March at 7.30pm. Please could we have a good turn out from our members for this as it’s a good time for you to have your say on the club events going forward.
Our next 12 car club night rally is on 9th April organised by Adrian Cunnington, he is looking for competitors and marshals, please contact him on: kldmc.classic@btinternet.com
That’s all for now hope to see you all out and about soon.
