East Elloe Motor Club

East Elloe Motor Club (EEMC), our neighbouring Club in south Lincolnshire, was first established in 1972 as a motorsports club engaged primarily in rallying. It is a Club affiliated to Motorsport UK and the Association of North East Midlands Motor Clubs (ANEMMC). Over the years the Club has evolved and, since 2008, we have operated a very active classic car club section which now has over 150 members (run as ‘Spalding & East Elloe Classic Car Club’ but for which East Elloe Motor Club Ltd remains the legal membership body). We have a few members who remain involved in motorsports, albeit in a declining capacity.

Sporting Car Club of Norfolk

Sporting Car Club of Norfolk (SCCoN) is our neighbouring Club covering Norwich, mid and east Norfolk was first established in 1951.

Eastern Counties Motor Club

Eastern Counties Motor Club (ECMC), based in Suffolk, was formed in the early 1950’s by a group of keen enthusiasts looking to use their road cars for sport. We started our motor racing at Fersfield near Diss, and were the first club to run a proper race meeting at Snetterton when it was just an airfield.

AEMC Clubs run motorsport events including stage rallies, road rallies, targa rallies, sprints, autotests, autosolos, car trials, cross-country, racing, karting and autocross in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire.

Anglia Motor Sport Club

Anglia Motor Sport Club (AMSC) was formed in 2012. The inagural meeting was held at The Swan Inn of Hoxne with Keith Pettitt & Brian Hemmings (West Suffolk Motorsport Club), Martin Newson & Howard Joynt (Sporting Car Club of Norfolk) and Tony & Will Burchnall (Eastern Counties Motor Club) in attendance. The three clubs agreed to pool resources to run a series of AutoSOLO events (two at Tibenham Airfield and four at MOD Waterbeach). The AutoSOLO was new at the time and was basically an Autotest with no reversing and running through a series of numbered gates. The series was a success and following discussions between Cambridge Car Club, Chelmsford Motor Club, Eastern Counties Motor Club, Falcon Motor Club,  King’s Lynn and District Motor Club, Sporting Car Club of Norfolk and West Suffolk Motorsport Club in 2013 Anglia Motor Sport Club was registered with the MSA. These were the seven founding members of the group. The purpose in forming the group was to combat the decline of grass roots motor sport in East Anglia. All of the clubs involved were to a greater or lesser extent suffering from lack of competitors, organisers, and marshals for the events that they were running, and needed to pool resources in order to keep the events viable. At the time, the MSA had quite restrictive rules governing who could or could not be invited to club level events, and the idea of an umbrella club was formed as a survival mechanism that would allow us to remain compliant with the rules of the MSA. Anglia Motor Sport Club has no individual members, just member clubs. The individual members of those clubs can take part in the club level events organised by the other member clubs.
